Zhejiang University Scholarship for postgraduate students.

Every year the scholarships provided by Chinese institutions for international students are a lot: not only the state or the province local governments but also the singles universities offer scholarship.

Zhejiang University is one of the oldest universities in China: it’s part of the C9 League and  it’s one of the most prestigious and selective of the country. Every year Zhejiang University offers scholarships for postgraduate students and this article will focus right on that.

Zhejiang University offer two kinds of scholarship:

1. Type A (full scholarship) 

- tuition waiver

- free accommodation on campus

- monthly living allowance 

- comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China

2. Type B (partial scholarship)

- free accommodation on campus

- monthly living allowance 

- comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China

The monthly living allowance is 2,000 RMB for PhDs programs and 1,700 RMB for master’s programs.

To apply for Zhejiang University scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with proper moral conduct, in good health

2. have a bachelor’s degree (Applicant who has not got the degree certificate when applying shall provide the pre-graduation certificate first)

3. Be under the age of 35 (Age limit is flexible for healthy applicants with certain work experience and high academic ability).

4. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs have HSK certificate of level 5 (180 points) or above

5. There are no Chinese language proficiency requirements for the applicants of English-taught programs, but they (except for English native speakers) must have an internet-based TOEFL test score 90 or IELTS test score 6.5 (or above).

To submit application, candidates need to collect the following documents:

Application Form for Admission to Zhejiang University, pasted with a recent photograph. Applicants shall fill in and submit the application form online then print and sign it. 

A photocopy of passport. 

Highest degree certificates, which must be original documents or notarized copies. If applicants are university students, they shall provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing the expected graduation date. 

Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English. 

Academic transcripts during bachelor’s degree study

Photocopies of language (Chinese or English) proficiency certificates (HSK or IELTS)

Personal statement, in Chinese or English. 

Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, in Chinese or English. 

Published academic papers or other academic achievements. (If any)

Receipt of application fee.
