Southeast University (SEU), founded in 1902, is one of China’s oldest higher education institutions. It has grown into a comprehensive institution with a strong emphasis on engineering, with 30 schools and departments that provide 76 undergraduate disciplines, 30 PhD programs, and 49 Master’s degrees. SEU is known for its leadership in a variety of subjects, including material science, electronics, and civil engineering.

The institution includes about 2,800 academic members, including 1,900 professors and associate professors, as well as over 30,000 students, with over 15,000 enrolled in graduate programs. SEU has international cooperation with approximately 2,000 international students from over 100 countries and three Confucius Institutes founded in the United States and Belarus.

Located near downtown Nanjing, SEU is a national key public research university governed by the Ministry of Education. The university has three campuses covering a total area of 5,888 mu (1 mu = 666.7 m²), with Jiulonghu Campus alone spanning 3,752.35 mu, with a total building area of 789,700 sqm.
