Founded in 1984, Yantai University is a member of ‘Project of Prestigious Universities in Shandong Province’. Yantai University was co-established by two prestigious universities of China—Peking University and Tsinghua university.

Yantai University offers a variety of scholarships to support international students financially. Here are some of the available scholarships:

• Chinese Government Scholarship – is a full-ride scholarship provided by the Chinese Scholarship Council, which covers tuition, accommodation, and living expenses.
• International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship – covers tuition, accommodation and living allowance for those studying teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.
• Shandong Provincial Government Scholarship – full scholarship is provided for the newly enrolled students, including degree students and long-term language students. Scholarship for outstanding students is provided for foreign students who have been studying in China and have outstanding performance.
• YTU Scholarship – Yantai University offers Freshmen Scholarship, Outstanding Students Scholarship, etc.
