For Chinese-taught programs, SCUT usually requires:

• HSK 4 with at least 180 points for science and engineering
• HSK 5 with at least 180 points for arts, business, architecture, and similar subjects
• An intermediate HSK Speaking Test result

English-taught programs accept TOEFL iBT 68, IELTS 5.5, Duolingo 100, or another accepted test. Students who completed their earlier education in English may qualify for an exemption.
