Founded in 1960, Capital Medical University (CMU) ranks among the top academic medical institutions in China, and is considered one of the key municipal universities in Beijing. When established, the university was first known as the Beijing Second Medical College.
Capital Medical University (CMU; 首都医科大学 shǒu dū yī kē dà xué) is a municipal public university in Beijing, China. It is affiliated with the City of Beijing, and co-funded by the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, the National Health Commission, and the Ministry of Education.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements
- Age 18 to 30
- Good health, meet the corresponding professional admission conditions: proper eye sights with no color vision deficiency; normal function of hearing, smell and expression; Anyone with infectious diseases (hepatitis B, HIV, syphilis, tuberculosis, etc.) and chronic diseases are required to be completely cured before applying; Applicants with a history of mental disorder are not recommended to apply. International School has the rights to terminate student’s application who don’t meet the health requirements.
- High school graduates or higher degrees with qualifying grades of mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
- For non-native English speakers, a minimum TOEFL score of 80 or IELTS score of 6.0 is required.
