Anhui Medical University (AHMU), originally founded as Private Southeast Medical University in Shanghai in 1926, has undergone several transformations before settling in Hefei in 1952. The university was co-founded by the Ministry of Education, the National Health and Family Planning Commission, and the Anhui Provincial Government. AHMU then began as the province’s first higher medical school and has since developed into a significant provincial university.
