Chongqing Medical University (CQMU), founded as Chongqing Medical College in 1956, was formed by the partial relocation of Shanghai First Medical College, which is now part of Fudan University. With over 68 years of development, CQMU has become a well-known public medical university. It is supported by China’s Ministry of Education, the National Health Commission, and the Chongqing Municipal Government. The university serves as Chongqing’s Pilot University of International Cooperation.

CQMU offers comprehensive educational programs. These programs vary from bachelor’s to doctoral and postdoctoral degrees in medicine and allied subjects. Over the last five years, CQMU has initiated more than 4,500 projects. The Ministry of Science and Technology and China’s National Natural Science Foundation provided funding for these projects. Besides, the university has led 54 national-level projects and published over 10,000 SCI publications. In addition to achieving a 10% yearly growth rate, it has won 38 new scientific and technology prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels.

CQMU actively promotes international collaboration. It has established partnerships with 56 educational and healthcare institutions across 23 countries and regions. These partnerships include notable universities like the University of Leicester, Dartmouth College, and the University of British Columbia. Moreover, the CQMU–UoL Joint Institute is the only Sino-foreign cooperative institute in Central and Western China, and it offers a clinical medicine major. Undergraduate Admission Requirements

• In principle, applicants should be over the age of 18 and under the age of 30.
• Applicants must be healthy, both mentally and physically.
• Applicants should have got the senior school leaving certificate upon registration with school.
• The applicants for MBBS program whose secondary education was NOT conducted in English need to provide an English level certificate or take an English exam organized by the school.
