In order to implement the construction of "interdisciplinary cross-discipline and excellent talent cultivation" at Zhejiang University, the International Business School of Zhejiang University (ZIBS) launched the "Global Communication and Management" undergraduate international student program in 2020. The program has a duration of 4 years and is abbreviated as GCM. The Global Communication and Management program aims to cultivate composite, innovative, and entrepreneurial talents and business leaders who have cross-cultural communication and communication expertise, understand Chinese language, culture, and national conditions, are proficient in management, economic and media professional knowledge, and have Chinese experience and global competitiveness.
Through the study in the Global Communication and Management program, students will master bilingual or multilingual communication and cross-cultural communication abilities, and have solid theoretical foundations in communication and management, as well as cross-cultural and global business knowledge and practical operational skills. Graduates have multiple employment directions, including cultural industry and business fields. They can work in management, business, communication, and branding in global business organizations, media organizations, Sino-foreign joint ventures, international organizations, multinational companies, etc., or they can come to China for entrepreneurship or develop in investment and cooperation fields.
Pioneer in Chinese Business Studies
iMCB is the first master program for international students oﬀered jointly by ZIBS and Zhejiang University College of Media and International Culture and builds on the foundations of the pioneering Master of China Studies program of ZJU. The iMCB program is specially designed for talented international students interested in Chinese business, communications and media.
Grounded in China studies and intercultural communication, iMCB is an interdisciplinary program which combines coursework and research in Chinese business culture, management practices, sociology, and intercultural understanding.
